Welcome to Robot Ratings. Have you been hearing more and more about robots lately in the news? Well, it seems as if the computer technology is entering the field of robots, as they are now becoming smaller and quite a bit smarter. Even autonomous robots (ones that can move around on their own) are being developed in Japan and South Korea.

Robot toys are also becoming all the rage – from the older tin robots from Japan, to the newer kinds like the Roomba floor sweeper and various other single purpose robots like pool cleaners and even lawn mowers.

When his radar-controlled robot is accidentally delivered instead to Mother Riley, the Vampire, through radar control, has the Robot transport itself as well as Mother Riley to the proper destination. The old lady goes into a whirl of hilarious action in an effort to ruin his evil plans.

Magic Knight Rayearth – Revival of Selece, the Legendary Rune-God

Umi becomes ill and is separated from the other two girls by a painting of a blue dragon that has comes alive. Ascot then shows up with his monster, and they battle Hikaru and Fuu. Ascot runs off. Meanwhile, the blue dragon tells Umi she must show her courage of the heart. She runs to help her friends and the blue dragon turns into a robot and defeats the monster. The robot tells Umi that she showed her true courage, but tells her she is not yet strong enough to wear him. He turns into a ball of light and proceeds to enter Umi’s armor, where the light starts to grow. Hikaru�s and Fuu’s armor experience the same change.

Ask The Experts About Robotech

Who enjoyed all the ROBOTECH seasons? Which anime is similar with a soap opera touch to it?

I wanna watch another anime, but one that you can fall in love with the characters like robotech. I love mecha-based anime.

admin answers:

I LOVED the Robotech series. I have the Macross seasons, as well as the Sourthern Cross, and the Invid Invasion. My favorite being the Macross seasons. I even have the Japanese version of the Macross saga. I like the English voice acting better but I wanted to see what it was like.
I enjoyed the Japanese Robotech Movie, “Do you remember Love” They have a couple clips on youtube you can check out. I added a linky to one of my favorite clips.

Now, if you are looking for mecha-based anime with a soap opera touch, there are some definite winners for you.
Full Metal Panic. Good animation, good story line. One of my favorites. And I ended up emotionally attached to some of the main characters.
Gundam Wing. I would be surprised if you have not seen this one yet, but this one is a winner and touched me emotionally as well.
Gundam Seed Destiny. Better animation quality then the other two, but slightly less soap opera style.

Okay. Now there are other anima’s that tend to develop emotional attachments for the main character. These do not have mecha but try these too!:

Classic Game Room – VANQUISH review

Classic Game Room reviews VANQUISH from Platinumgames and Sega, a futuristic robot-mecha-sci-fi-action-shooter with a cool style and ultra-slick gameplay. Vanquish is available for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 PS3, this CGR review of Vanquish from Sega has Xbox 360 game play showing Vanquish third person shooter gameplay in HD. Vanquish is directed by Shinji Mikami, the creator of Resident Evil. The story takes place on a massive space station where nations are warring over the planet’s remaining energy resources. You play as Sam Gideon who wears a Master Chief-esque super suit that enables him to move quickly, slow down time and mix up gameplay so that Vanquish is more interesting and dlever than the average duck and cover style third person shooter.
